The Authority Guides is a team of dedicated individuals who strive to help writers and business owners to produce fantastic books that not only look good but sell well and increase business for their authors. Sue Richardson is a dynamic publishing professional who, together with her colleagues and associates below, works to ensure all aspects of publishing a book are catered for to the highest standards.

Publisher

Having worked for many years as a freelance editor and publishing project manager, Sue began publishing non-fiction books in 2000. Since then she has worked with numerous companies, entrepreneurial individuals and experts of all kinds to get their books written and published.

Christopher Cudmore

Managing editor

Chris has worked in publishing for 20 years at companies including Routledge/T&F, McGraw-Hill and Pearson, where he led their professional and consumer award-winning business publishing.

Paul East

Marketing consultant

Paul has been working with books his entire professional life and has been employed by some of the UK’s biggest retail, media and publishing brands. After nearly 20 years in front-line retail, he moved into book marketing where he was responsible for a £20m publishing portfolio, planning and executing UK-wide and international book trade marketing campaigns.

Ian Hunter

Commercial director

Ian has over 20 years’ experience building, developing and leading teams within the book publishing and print industries, with a career spanning operational responsibility, frontline sales and board level accountability for client services.

Maria Waite

Series proofreader

Maria started working in the world of books back in the early 90s for The Red House – a children’s book club – when her elder daughters were quite small. Since then she has worked for Hodder Education (part of Hodder and Stoughton) and The HotHive (an independent publisher) before turning freelance in 2011.

Chantal Cooke

PR associate

Chantal Cooke is an award winning journalist and broadcaster, and founder of The Book Booster. She specialises in helping authors turn their books into best sellers by using a variety of tried-and-tested PR, communication and marketing methods designed specifically for authors.

Kelly Mundt

Production manager

Kelly has travelled from the US to use her techie knowledge to help Authority Guide authors. A graduate of Oxford Brookes University, she hopes to use her past freelance experience to continue her career in publishing.

Isabella Anton

Publishing assistant

Hailing from the US, Bella is a recent graduate from Oxford Brookes University where she studied International Publishing.
